Sweater with Crane Embroidery - $49.99
Holy shit was this sweater really $49.99? Yikes! This is from Target right? Damn, I must have been really tired when I ordered this online! But I must say, I really love this sweater, so I would have bought it anyway. Of course the way I am wearing it here, is all wrong, but it was the first thing I tried on after 3 hours of sleep, I wasn't in my groove yet. This one looked cute on Pammers too, but she wasn't really a fan of the cranes. Verdict - This will be a love or hate item. For me it was love, for Pam not so much. But at $49.99 it is a little over priced. At least I think so. But when I ordered it online I snagged it for 20% off and was using Birthday money, so I am keeping it. (The 20% off sale is over, but at the time I wrote this, there is a $5 off $25 in store coupon you can print online. Wish I knew that before going to Target this morning. I wonder if they will price adjust me if I go back in with the coupon?)
Orchid Print Sweatshirt Black - $29.99
Every collaboration that Target does seems to have one sweatshirt. This one is a silky front with sweatshirt back and sleeves. The material felt a little stiff to me, but I think it will soften with washes. The sleeves were super tight to me, and I would need to size up. I have a few sweatshirts, but I don't wear them often, so this wasn't for me. But it is super cute, and I saw a few other friends style it and loved it on them. Verdict - This is a solid buy. It will look cute on most and the print is nice. It's a classic piece.
Sheer peasant blouse with embroidery Ruby Hill - $44.99
This is not my usual style. I don't do the whole bohemian vibe thing. But I have to say, I was really loving this top. I regret not buying it. But for the price, I just wasn't sure I would really wear it enough, or if I was getting a little collab fever. Regardless of Pam's face, she was not loving this top. Looking at this picture, I am really regretting not getting it. Damn it! If it is still there when I do my returns from my online order, I think I'm going to snatch it up. Why is there always that one item we regret not buying? Verdict - This was well made and cute on most. Depending on your style and body type, this could be a hit or a miss. I think it's a little over priced for what it is, but cute none the less, I want it.

Just like every Target collab has a sweatshirt, they each have a long sleeve tee as well. These must sell pretty well. I don't get it though, because I have yet to like one. This is just too much. The print just washes me out and the fit does nothing for me. I see it on Pam and it doesn't look so bad. But honestly, I am just not a fan. Verdict - Save your money. I can't endorse this one, I just don't like it.
Python Short Sleeve Shirt - $17.99
I can tolerate this one more than the long sleeve version. The colors are a bit more muted and it just works better. I have seen a few people on Instagram style this one and it looks great. I like this better on Pam than I do on me. It seems to bunch around my belly, while it is nice and smooth on Pam. But I always have this problem with t-shirts due to the hourglass shape. (Not complaining!) Verdict - This is a good value for the money. It is remarkably versatile and an easy way to wear the python trend.
I am a sucker for a bow blouse. I have a few already. They are such a classic wardrobe staple. They can be dressed up or down. I love them and get regular wear out of them. This one is sheer, but I feel I could wear it with a black bra underneath like I am wearing here, for a date night, or I can wear a black cami underneath most of the time to keep it less sexy. I don't know why I didn't order this one, it wasn't even on my radar, which is odd considering how much I love bow blouses. I ended up bringing this one home with me today. They also have a sheer black swiss dot version of this one, and now that I have this one, I kinda really want that one too. Darn it to heck! Verdict - Get yourself a bow blouse lady! You can thank me later.
Sleeveless Sheer Bow Blouse Black - $29.99
Did I just say I love a bow blouse? Well for whatever reason, I was not feeling this one at all. I showed this pic to John and he really liked it. But I think that's just because you can see my bra, which is not how I would ever wear it. This one lost it for me. But again, seeing it on others, it looks totally cute. Verdict - May be worth checking out if you like this style.
I had such high hopes for this one. This was one of my must haves. But here we are again with that satin that is really polyester. I just am not feeling this material. The feedback I am hearing is that you will either love or hate this one. Put me down for the hate side. The sleeves were too tight, so I had to size up, which resulted in an ill fitting shirt and too long sleeves. Even though it was too big, the shirt felt too tight in the back and like it was going to rip if I had to stretch. This shirt had so much potential, yet it fell short. I really wanted something with this print, but alas it just was not meant to be. Verdict - While I am personally not a fan of the material, if you like the shiny look, have a nymph like body with super long arms, this one is for you. OK I'm being harsh, but I wanted this one sooo bad and then this! Ugh!
Again, most Target Collaborations have some type of scarf in them. I rarely buy the scarf. I have a ton already and with my PopSugar Must have subscription, I seem to get a few every year. But I decided to play around with this one, and unexpectedly fell in love. I love how I styled it here. It is the perfect accessory for the bags under my eyes. I kid! (3 hours sleep ya'll!) This being FL, and with the mild Fall's that we have here, most people are fine in a short sleeve shirt til the end of November. Me? I tend to get just a little chilly. And well, this one just feels about perfect. I love the fringe, I love the dots, I love the scarf. Verdict - you may feel a little too gypsy with the fringe, but if you can hang with the fringe, this one has a nice vintage yet modern vibe that will be perfect for the Fall and Winter.
There are several other tops in this collection, but we didn't see them. Again, I was pretty disappointed in our lackluster selection, but it saved me money, so I can't complain too much. I ended up with the sweater, which I ordered online and will keep, the python bow blouse and the scarf. I would have loved to try the pants and blazers, and maybe I'll be able to if someone returns them, but it is what it is.
Overall I was mildly disappointed with the Altuzarra for Target Collaboration. I felt that many of the pieces were overpriced for what they are. I also feel a lot of pieces had fit issues or I just wasn't a fan of the material. Many items felt cheap. I had such high hopes for this collab, but I guess my wallet is happy. I'd love to hear your thoughts, if you shopped the Altuzarra for Target. What was your overall impression?
I can totally send your address and take those bags off your hands. 😉
ReplyGreat post you took me virtual shopping. Gorgeous ladies I'm debating getting a few pieces of my own now :)
ReplyThanks! Let me know what you pick up if you end up shopping the collection! I always love hearing what others think!
ReplyThanks for saving me the trip. I was not overly impressed with what I saw online. And I have this history with poor quality when it's a big name collaboration. Just too bad really, Target has a huge market.

omg, you nailed it with the Nina Garcia comment on the shirt dress! I totally had the same thought, this makes no sense to be part of the collection! Anyway, Loved your honest review. I agree the black "it" dress material was not appealing to me with that stretchy shiny fabric, I didn't try any of them with that material actually! But I like the way it looks on you. I have a feeling the black boho maxi is going to look great on you. Oh and one last thing....get the skirt gurl! ;)
