Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick - My latest Obsession

I can't believe it's already Friday! Where did the week go? I was so busy all week, I missed one of my 2 classes at the gym on Wed, then I missed yesterday's workout and now I am hoping I can somehow fit in the gym today. :/ Yes I base how busy I am on whether or not I made it to the gym, but that is way more interesting than basing it on the 3 loads of laundry I managed to throw in the wash each morning and have yet to fold and put away, or the 10 loads of laundry that are likely awaiting me, oh and the groceries I have yet to do this week that meant my kids got to get a breakfast sandwich for breakfast from Dunkin Donuts today for the second time this week! UGH! See why basing it on the gym sounds way better? LOL Side note - was that the longest run on sentence or what?!

But what does any of this have to do with my latest obsession? Nothing, but you know me, I love to chat! I saw a post on the Urban Decay's Revolution lipsticks. After seeing the swatches, I knew I had to go out and get one. It started with Shame. The darkest of the bunch! I tend to keep it neutral with my lips, but something about turning 39, and I'm like F it! I'm going to wear what I love! I used to wear Revlon's Black Cherry lipstick ALL the time! It was my signature lip back in the day! (All you more mature ladies know exactly which lipstick i'm talking about!) And trying on Shame brought me right back to being 17. So I grabbed it and love it!

It makes me feel a bit more sassy and bad ass. The name Shame doesn't suit it. Excuse the pics of me. Like I said above, I have so much to do, so I had to do quick pics on my phone. (On the plus side I do have a load of laundry going while I write this!)

Then I went to Orlando with my friends for a night and we hit up Sephora and I grabbed Manic along with the matching lip pencil and the ozone lip pencil. (more on that in a minute.) This combo I could wear every day!

When my August Ipsy bag arrived, a small sample of Anarchy was in there. Coco immediately stole it and it looks amazing on her. Not so much for me. I feel like a clown when I put it on. I wish I could pull this one off because the color is so fun. Believe me the photo of me wearing it below does not showcase just how vivid it looks in person.

And of course always on the lookout for more, I received a small postcard sample set from Sephora that has F-bomb, Naked, Obsessed and Anarchy samples in it. The second I tried Obsessed I became obsessed with the color! I MUST MUST MUST get this in full size. OMG! I am so not a pink lipstick girl! I looked at it and thought, yuck - 90's Baywatch babe pink - no thanks! Then I watched a Kandee Johnson video and her lips were bathed in a pink lipstick. And I couldn't keep my eyes off her lips. I kept thinking, hmmm I need to try a pink lipstick. It looks so fresh on her, not 90's Baywatch babe at all. And then I remembered the sample! GAH! I am officially OBSESSED with OBSESSED! Did I mention that already? Me in pink lips! Oh I love it so!

Another color I didn't think would be anything special for me that I ended up loving is Naked. It is so subtle and would be a great daily color. It almost matches my lips perfectly, but just a hint lighter. (I have darker colored lips.) And it perfectly covered the birthmark on my lip, which is almost impossible for most lipsticks that aren't dark. Another one added to my list of wants. Oh boy, I'm in trouble!

And lastly I tried out F-bomb. This is a bright red. I think it's a blue based red, or at least it looks it to me. It is a very universally flattering shade. I felt like an instant classic a la Marilyn Monroe when I put this one on. I felt so sexy in this. I love red lipsticks, and this one did not disappoint. So of the 4 samples they included in their postcard, I want 3 of them. Good job Urban Decay. Your marketing worked perfectly on me!

And let me tell you this is not about just loving a lipstick color when it comes to these beauties. These colors last! My lips don't feel heavy and coated. The pigmentation is intense with these lipsticks. Seriously intense. And they just last and last. I love the wear. I wore Shame Saturday night and ate dinner, desserts and had a few drinks and when I got home hours later, it still looked great. It lost a little of it's shine, but I could have gone longer without a reapplication which is unusual for a shade so dark.

If Urban Decay makes a Revolution lipstick box with all 22 shades, I would buy it in a heart beat. That is how much I love them.

Oh and before I forget the lip pencil Ozone. It is a sheer waxy pencil. It does not leave color. You apply it around your lip line, not actually on your lips. It feels a little weird applying it, but it is not heavy and you immediately forget it's on. It prevents your lipstick from feathering if you are one of those girls who has that issue. I totally have that issue no matter what a lipstick says. I have not tried the Revolution lipsticks without the Ozone when I have worn them out, because I instantly became hooked after trying Ozone. A friend told me about it, who knew such things even existed?

Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick retails for $22 each and Ozone retails for $19. I bought the two I have at Sephora. You can find these at Sephora, Ulta and Urban Decay's website.

Yay! I love Anarchy and Obsessed. You may like Native, too. That's my favorite 'MLBB' pink shade.

I have yet to try any products from Urban Decay but now I'm tempted. I love Shame and F Bomb on you the best. I want to try on Naked.

You definitely need to try them out! I always say if it's your first time, definitely see if you can test it out in store first. although with lipstick, the most I would do is swatch it on my hand.

You look beautiful with all of the colours, including Anarchy! I have Naked2 (I love a nude lippie) but I'm definitely going to get one of the brighter ones, and the Ozone pencil (THAT looks amazing) now!

That Ozone pencil is the best! I am so in love with it and how it works! And definitely try a brighter lippie! It's weird at first, you think everyone is looking at your lips, but once you get used to it, there's no turning back!

I got "69" in my Ipsy bag last month and loved it, then I went to Ulta and tried on F-Bomb and fell in love with that one as well and I bought it. I've never been a red girl but these two changed me. Now after seeing Naked on you I am thinking another trip to Ulta to try that one out might be in order.

It's dangerous isn't it! I got a sample of 69 and Catfight and haven't tried them yet! But I want Native and Venom and Protest next! Oh and yes F Bomb! I want F Bomb too!
