Puke For Sale on Ebay?

So today I fully intended on doing a blogger spotlight post, but then I forgot my iPad at home, so I actually took a real lunch break today! Who knew by the time I got home the post would have to be put aside.

I have been receiving emails, Tweets & FB comments on Unicorn Puke being sold on Ebay. I know many of you are upset over it and are wanting to know how I feel. I have known for a few days now that a bottle has been on Ebay, we regularly google Cult Nails and found it. I saw a few other colors on Ebay before so I wasn't really surprised.

But how do I feel? If I am being 100% honest, I am feeling quite a few emotions and they just so happen to completly conflict with each other.

Let's start by going back when I decided to make a few bottles called Unicorn Puke, shall we? At first I thought we were going to get charged for the extra screen printing in gold, and if that happened I thought I would pass the cost on. When that didn't happen, Juan & I actually talked about pricing them at $15 since they are limited edition. But as we talked it out, it just didn't feel right for us. It isn't who we are. Yeah we could have made a few extra bucks, but we just didn't feel like it would be worth it for us. Kind of like the same thing we did with the base & top coat by pricing them cheaper because we know it is something that needs to be replaced more often. We want to stay true to who we are.

Now don't get me wrong, this is a business. Something I am proud of and hope to make enough money that I can do this full time and help support my family. I do want to make money doing this. I don't want to come off as holier than thou, because of course I want to make money off this!

So now here we are with Unicorn Puke selling for mega bucks on Ebay. If I'm being honest, my first thought was OMG! Something I made is selling on EBAY! WOW! WOW! WOW! I made that! I can't believe I created something that people want THAT bad! Then I thought, wait, that person is making money off my brilliance! (Yeah need to deflate that ego! ha!ha!)Then I thought - wait who's the brilliant one? She bought 2 bottles (Yes I was able to figure out who they are) and is selling one and might make a few bucks for herself. Good for her! I mean if someone stopped me on the street and offered me $100 for my sneakers that I paid $50 for them, I would take them off right there and hand them over! I mean seriously - I totally would. But then I feel bad for the person who missed the sale by seconds and didn't get a bottle because someone bought one intending to profit off it. But then - there really is no guarantee that they would make money. And if someone is willing to pay, then isn't that between the two of them? So yeah I see that it sucks, but at the same time, They are making money, and who knows maybe they need that money or maybe they don't, but in the end it's their bottle to do with what they want.

But even funnier, last night we were contacted by someone who I accidently sent two bottles to and she only ordered one. Somehow 2 shipping labels printed and she got two packages. (I knew I was one short in my personal collection and I thought one of the kids took it. Oops! But she emailed us and asked us what we wanted to have her do. We told her to keep the extra bottle and maybe do a little Random Act of Kindness. Since there are so many who wanted it and missed out, maybe she knew one of them and could pass it along. She is giving it away. So it's kind of humorous that we are giving bottles away and people are selling them.

Of course then Clairvoyant comes into play. It is the same exact thing. Does the name really mean that much? If so should I make more Unicorn Puke to stop the madness? Is that fair to those who already have their bottles? It kind of takes the fun out of the limited edition bottles. Which I did because well - it was fun! It was kitchy, because those of us in the know would get a kick out of it! No other reason! So no I won't make more, and if someone wants to pay crazy money for a bottle - let them. Those who would rather save their money, wait for Clairvoyant, because once it's on your nails, you can call it whatever you want, because it literally is from the same batch as Unicorn Puke. No one will know! Well honestly, know one would probably know anyway, I'm no Chanel after all! (Yet! lol)

EDITED TO ADD: One of the Ebayers posted in the comments and for her protection, I removed all her comments. I don't ever want anyone to feel attacked in my community, and I felt she left a lot of personal information that really is no ones business, so for her protection, I removed them. Let's make it a new day and a great weekend!

FAQ Time!

I have been getting a lot of the same questions via email over the last few weeks, and I figure for every person who emails me there has got to be a few more who don't email and have the same questions, so why not another FAQ session?

When will you have Captivated back in stock?

NEVER! OK just kidding - it really was going to be never, but apparently I am weak and you guys win! We are working on bringing it back for the Spring collection next year. I can't promise it 100% just yet - but it will be sometime between March and May.

When will you have Unicorn Puke back in stock?

Sorry but the Unicorn is dead! Well sort of anyway. The bottle that says Unicorn Puke will never come back. (This I am serious about!) BUT come on, would I leave you hanging? Well apparently yes I would since I wasn't going to bring Captivated back, but since I did bring it back, I can say I won't leave you hanging! But seriously - the polish will be back as Clairvoyant with our Super Powers collection, which will release some time in late November. Same exact polish - different name!

When will pre-sale begin?

This is a tough one. I do pre-sales because I feel this is what you guys want. But honestly, they make me a nervous wreck! I spend the time worrying that I will forget someone's order, or that the polishes will be delayed or some other such catastrophe. By the time I order the polish, it is already made, but they don't fill the bottles for me until everything is paid for and then it takes about 6 - 8 weeks to fill the polishes and send them to me. I hang back and try to do the pre-sales about 2 -4 weeks before we are expected to receive them. But inevitably they keep getting delayed, then I just sit there feeling guilty and like I should do something to make it up to everyone. So I am thinking I may not do pre-sales anymore, or I may change the way we do it or something. I am still trying to figure that all out - but wait there's more...

If I'm being totally honest, in my head I imagined doing a Black Friday - Cyber Monday sale. I haven't worked out all the details yet, but I will get there. I am "suppose" to receive the Super Powers collection by Nov 15th so if I hold it and release it with a sale, that would be kind of cool - right? If I do a pre-sale, then I will probably pass on a sale a week later. So here I am just pretty much speaking out loud, but no firm decisions have been put in place yet. I am definitely open to suggestions, feel free to let me know what you would like to see.

Can you show me Unicorn Puke/Clairvoyant layered over black? Sure - that's an easy one!

That's it for today! Tomorrow another blogger spotlight...who will it be?

Budding Nail Bloggers?

This weekend we met up with some fellow bloggers and some blog followers in Orlando. We had a great time eating Italian food, swapping polish and of course shopping. I brought along my entourage (Coco and her friend) and I gave them my polishes to swap with. They had a blast going through all that polish and selecting some to bring home. I think they were the clear winners in finding polish, we came home with as much nail polish as we brought! When we got home, they split the polish up between the two of them.

Polish & food around at the Pope table in Bucca di Beppo

But getting all that polish just wasn't enough, while we were shopping, they picked up some fake nails and nail stickers. I had the joy of doing their nails with these on Sunday.

Coco went for fake nails that have a zebra pattern and black french tip.
Coco's friend already has long nails, so she opted for nail stickers in a multi colored Zebra french look. I'm not gonna lie - I totally want to try this look!
Best Friends
Coco is the one who made the aqua polish you all love and she is immensely into everything we do for Cult Nails. She makes sure to tell me that she is going to be the CEO of Cult Nails when she grows up. Hmmmm, I think she might be right!

Taking a Day Off

Today I will be by John's side as we attend the funeral of one of his friends. His friend lost his battle with cancer last weekend. His friend was young, only 42. He leaves behind a beautiful wife and three children. I can't imagine how they must be feeling right now. My heart breaks for them over their loss.

I know it is breast cancer awareness month, but let's make it cancer awareness month. John lost his uncle to cancer just a few months ago, and it seems everyone has a story of loss lately. I feel like there has to be more that we can do. So today I leave you with a link to the American Cancer Society website.  I also ask that you take a moment to appreciate what you have and hug your family for those who may have recently lost a family member.

Winter Collection: Super Powers Edition Sneak Peek!

I have been putting off posting much about our upcoming Winter collection: The Super Powers Collection for a few reasons. Nothing in the collection was working out right. I have to say I was pushed to the point, where I asked myself why I was doing this? Why am I working 40 - 50 hours a week in my day job and then coming home and working another 40+ hours a week on Cult Nails. Juan is also working 40+ hours a week on Cult Nails too. It is tiring and frustrating when things don't work out. I know the nature of creating a business has its ups and downs, and I was expecting it, but until you are actually living it, you don't realize how hard it really is. My laundry is so far behind, my house is never clean enough, a nice home cooked meal every night? Yeah right, in my dream world maybe! But then I log into Facebook, or Twitter or see the comments on here and I get re-energized all over again! You guys have no idea how much you mean to me! Truly, I have made so many friends through this process. I love that I can count on you guys for honest feedback and bring you into the polish creating world with me! Thank you a million times over for all you guys do!

Anyway the Winter collection is the collection that ws on the verge of being cancelled up until oh a few days ago actually. Seriously, I was just going to put out Clairvoyant and call it a day and start fresh next year. I was drafting the post announcement in my head already. After creating Clairvoyant (Unicorn Puke), nothing felt right. I thought maybe a collection of three cremes would go perfect with it, then I didn't want to do three cremes because my January collection is going to be 3-4 cremes. Then I made Time Traveler a perfect Slate Grey. Then I created a few duochromes and glass fleck glitters and a few more cremes. When I say I make at least 20 colors per collection and then whittle it down to the 4 colors, that is just the beginning. When I send the colors to the lab they send me anywhere from 1 - 5 incantations of each color I ask for. Imagine going through all that polish and picking only 4!

Well this time none of them felt right. Then in a fit of mixing one night, my ADD got the better of me and I started mixing things into what was slated to be Time Traveler. I mixed a pink/purple shimmer in to it and my heart stopped. It had to be a color. But when? How? I already had a test batch of 100 bottles of Time Traveler sitting in my storage, could I really change it instead of completing the order I already had for Time Traveler? What would I do with those 100 bottles? Could I do both? F it, I sent the new mix to the lab - I had to have this color.

The other color was a taupe with the silver/pink/blue shimmer of Let Me Fly and My Kind of Cool Aid. I am thinking that shimmer is my thing, I want it in everything! But here is how this color came to be: I saw these shoes and they were amazing and I had to have them, and I kept thinking I need to bottle this taupe! Then when I really looked the shoes had my shimmer! OMG! I HAVE to make this a color - NOW! So I mixed and mixed until I had it perfect. But somehow the lab couldn't match it. Then low and behold, I see these collections releasing and not one but three brands released it! Oh no! I did it again! I came up with a color other people were creating! How do I keep doing that? But I was down to the wire and I knew when the color came in from the lab I was going to be on the hook for the color. My heart sank. I was going to knowingly release something exactly or almost exactly to what other people already have. :( But lady luck was on my side. Sometimes I swear our chemist is a little color blind because my sample came back brown not taupe. Like chocolate milk brown. And it was beautiful and stunning and perfect and not what I asked for, but it is so right all at the same time. YAY! Another color finalized!

So now we are down to the wire, I had to pick between four colors choices. 1. A perfect retro red that whenever I wear it people stop to ask me who makes that red, 2. The pink jelly with duochrome glass fleck glitter, 3. The vivid blue with gold shimmer and pink flakes created by another blogger or 4. The perfect Navy opaque jelly created for a follower. I narrowed it down to two colors posted them on Facebook and let you guys decide. The Navy Jelly ended up winning by 1 vote! Can you believe it?

Now the Winter collection was set to release November 18th, but we need 6 - 8 weeks to fill an order after we create the colors and finalize which ones we want. So that means I'll be lucky to have them the week before Christmas at this rate! But many of the delays happened because of our lab, so we are BEGGING to have some strings pulled and get our collection to us by Nov 15th since we have been telling them we need it by then since July. If it happens we will be on target for our Nov 18th release! I should know by tomorrow if this is going to happen. Fingers crossed!

OK so enough blabber - you guys want to see the collection right? Well I have been busy packing orders and packing polishes we are donating and numbering the Unicorn Puke bottles and getting all that together, so forgive my pictures, they were taken a while ago or quickly tonight. I will try to get some better ones up as soon as I have more time. Oh and Time Traveler is no longer the grey. Yeah we changed it up a bit by popular request. The grey has a new name and Time Traveler will be the blue jelly. :)

I introduce to you our Super Powers Collection!

Mind Control - Slate Grey with intense bursts of pink/purple shimmer. Control your mind and the minds of those around you with this amazing polish. It'll be difficult for your mortal enemy to concentrate on anything other than your stunning nails when wearing this color!

Power Thief - A muddy brown with intense shimmer that sparkles silver, pink or blue. A power thief can steal all the super powers from those around them and use them for their own purpose. Imagine all those powers being "muddled" together and at your finger tips!

Time Traveler - A perfect opaque navy jelly polish. I was thinking this one would have something to do with a water super power. But those in the know quickly corrected me and let me know that this was Time Traveler thanks to Dr. Who. I remember that show from when I was a kid and I never got past the opening music because it scared me, so regretfully, I can't say I know exactly what they are talking about, but I'll take their word for it! :)

And last but certainly not least - Clairvoyant. A perfect purple jelly with a rainbow of flakes. In looking into my future, I knew I had to have this color, who knew that it would become a reality! Wear this and see your future clearly - it'll be amazing!
One coat on index finger, two on middle finger and three on the other two fingers.
So there you have it, our soon (hopefully) to be released Super Power collection! Once I have a better date, I will pass it on to you guys!  So what do you think? Worth the hassle?

What do you add to your gilver Mani to make it better?

First off I just wanted to say thank you to all the comments on the blog recently. I just haven't had the time to respond. I'm sorry - but I do read all the comments! If you are ever waiting for a response, just feel free to email me. Otherwise I will try my hardest to respond. As for my headaches, they are still on and off. I am working out and relaxing, but for some reason I can;t get rid of them permanently. I do think I am going to go ahead and make another appt to see if I can get a referral. Thank you guys for letting me know I am not crazy for wanting to go in for a second opinion!

As for Coco's aqua jelly with flakes and shimmer, that is definitely going to be a future color. I like the idea of doing a fun side and creme side to the line. I actually already have 3 "fun" colors that match 3 creme colors, and if we sell enough polish I will make that happen for you guys. I'll keep you all posted on how it goes.

Some of our bottles of Unicorn Puke have arrived! YAY! We are expecting the second box by the end of this week. Once we receive it we will send all the orders out. We are going to hold these until they all arrive and send them all out together. I am loving the gold screen printing. It is so much nicer! I want to change all my bottles to gold now! But maybe it looks so good against the Unicorn Puke.

Seeing the gold screen printing I couldn't help but wonder what it would look like layered over a gold polish. I decided to take an old favorite of mine: Chanel Kaleidoscope and layer Cult Nails Unicorn Puke over it. Eek! Cult Nails over Chanel! I die! But still AMAZING!

Here is Chanel Kaleidoscope on it's own.

Here it is layered with one thin coat of Unicorn Puke.

I took these pictures pretty late, so there was no sunlight, but in person, the sheer purple/blue jelly polish over the green/gold Kaleidoscope and the added flakies! WOW! It looks like a blueish purplish metallic with subtle flakes! I can't even express how fantastical this looks in person! I keep stopping writing this just so I can stare at my nails! I wish my pictures came out better! I will try to take more in the sunlight later today.

For those of you who missed out on Unicorn Puke, Clairvoyant will release with our Winter Collection. I am hoping for an ETA on that real soon.

My Mobile Blogging Solution and a Mani

Can I just Geek out and post a totally non nail or beauty related post today? As many of you know my Macbook suffered an untimely death. I won't bore you with all the details, but in the end after a few weeks of going over our options and what would work best for us, we decided on an iMac desktop set up and an iPad2. The iMac has a lot more power than the Macbook did and Juan really wanted the desktop vs the laptop. So we knew we definitely were getting the desktop. We had already been saving to get him one, so we just had to do it a bit sooner than we wanted. As for me I wanted a new laptop. Screw the tech crap, I just prefer a laptop! I had zero interest in getting an iPad2, which to me was just a glorified iPhone. Now don't get me wrong I LOVE my iPhone. I love everything it can do and in a pinch I can do a blog post from it. So why the heck would I need an iPad2? Well I quickly learned that while the iPad2 lacks some of the features I can get in a Macbook, it has some other great features that make up for it.

I actually plan on doing a post/video that shows how you can truly take blogging mobile with you! I am such a darn fangirl now - it's redic! I can't believe I went from one side of the fan camp to the other so quickly. Maybe because it's still so new to me?
Anyway what I learned is the cost of getting an iPad is not just getting an iPad. You have to figure out how much memory you want and do you need 3G and if you do, do you want Verizon or AT&T? Do you want the bluetooth keyboard and oh don't forget to get a cover to protect the front and a skin or case to protect the back!
I grabbed a cover and keyboard with my iPad right away. Most of the admin, sales and management staff at my work have moved to tablets for ease of work life. I did no research, I just knew what I had seen around the office. My daughter has an iPad too, so there wasn't much research I needed to do in that department. But as for the cover and keyboard option, I just grabbed what I thought would work best for me from what they had at the store at the time. I bet a bunch of people do the same thing.
Cute right? But when I leave the house, I don't bring the keyboard, because it is just to flimsy to carry on it's own. Then I get nervous about the back of my iPad2 getting all scratched up. (I ordered a skin, but it came defective. No bueno!) But I would just slide my iPad in my laptop bag when I went off to work so I could have the iPad during lunch. It's been great having a bigger space to respond to Cult Nails emails and keeping up with Facebook and Twitter during my lunch hour! I was nervous about putting my iPad in my purse and thought, maybe if I just get a new purse? Or maybe I'll just carry it in my hands and be super careful so I don't drop it. But I knew I was going to have to figure something else out real soon. But for now, no worries. To add to the downside of the iPad2 was that if I wanted to sit on the couch with my tablet and keyboard it would make it near impossible. I can't balance the iPad on my lap while balancing the keyboard on my lap too. Grrr, My co-workers Acer tablet had an attachable keyboard and it's an Acer - Apple had to have something right?
Then while online I found the ZAGGfolio. It looked like it was exactly what I was looking for. So I started researching and comparing and didn't find many reviews on the ZAGGfolio. I did find some customer service issues with ZAGG which I had to agree with based on previous experiences with them. I will simply say I do not recomend their custom phone skins or protectors. I will leave it at that. ANYWAY in the end customer service issues and lack of reviews aside, I felt that the ZAGGfolio was my best option and so I bit the bullet and ordered it.
I love that I can just put it on my lap and work. Another plus is that I can easily slide the iPad2 in and out of the case. Which is great if I just want to use it in Tablet mode. The downside? I'm a girl - and a girly girl at that. This is not sleek or blingy. It is rather rugged and manly if you ask me. But it does the job and I will figure out a way to bling it out. You just wait and see! But I am just so ecstatically happy with this!
But seriously, if you need a mobile blogging set up, I highly suggest getting the iPad2 or checking out some other tablet options that might work for you. Or maybe Juan is right and I'm just an early adapter, but I disagree since I held off over a year before breaking down and getting one. OK, OK enough of this WAY off normal topic post. Let's get back to nails...
This is a black jelly polish I tried to make with Devious Nature on my ring finger. The backdrop is my ZAGGfolio! It makes the perfect backdrop! LOL! Oh and did I mention I did this entire post while sitting in a salon getting a pedicure? Yuppers
Are you gagging from my lame review or did this help you at all in any way? Did you add the iPad2 to your Holiday/Bday/Anniversary wish list?

Picture Heavy - But So Worth It!

This week ended up being a crazy week. Work was pure insanity and then coming home and working on Cult Nails and family, there was just no time for me to put a post together at all. So since I skipped out on you guys most of the week, I am making it up to you with this post. So worth the wait!
If you follow me in Twitter or Facebook, you might remember that I posted a picture of the beach saying I NEEDED to make the colors of the ocean into a polish color! Here is the picture again, WOW! Seriously - can you imagine this bottled into a polish?
My first take was actually my third take. I wanted something that was sheer but buildable. This one built up pretty fast, and the color varied based on lighting. It went from green to blue leaning. I added some shimmer, but it isn't as visable as I would like. I want to do this again and add some more shimmer. But while I am loving this, I don't know if it is exactly what I am looking for. But once you see the last color I am showing you, you'll be glad I am holding off on this one for a bit longer.
Of course whenever I am mixing polishes together my daughters want to get in on the action. One of my daughters made this one. I am not sure which one made it, but Oh My Wow! Let me just say the pictures do not do this one any justice at all! This is like an aqua jelly that has has gold and green shimmer mixed together and green flakies that flash pink. I have no idea what she mixed to create this, but are you friggin kidding me? I can't stop staring at it! This reminds me of the water with Jellyfish swimming throughout the it. It is not what I had in mind, but how can this not become a Cult color? I am sending this one off to the lab, and I may just put the ocean color on hold a little longer, because this is a must! Of course Juan is going to tell me to stop making blue/green polishes - but come on!

The Sun is Shining Bright!

I haven't done an outfit of the day post in a while, so I thought I would do one today. I actually have a few outfits to show you guys now. I am trying something new. As John's set up of photography toys grows, he now has a plain backdrop. You know something he can use for product shots for Cult Nails. But why use it so I can take quick pics of what I am wearing too? Although, I have to admit the natural backdrop in today's photos is WAY better. I pass this spot on my way to work everyday, the only problem is that it is pitch black when I leave my house in the morning and by the time I get out of work, it's time to run home for whatever we may have going on in the house. But using John's new backdrop, I think I might be able to take more outfit of the day pictures. Let's see if I can make that happen. This was Monday's outfit of the day for running around for what we thought was going to be a few errands and a lunch date. Instead we had to bring Kat to Urgent Care, because as soon as we finished taking these photos, our cell rang, she got bit by a spider and her leg was swelling. Turns out she is just fine, but her leg is definitely infected. She had to go on antibiotics and we'll have to keep an eye on it for a few days, but it should be fine. So much for a lunch date. LOL

What I'm wearing:
Top: Francesca's Collection (No longer available, similar style here)
Jeans: Skinny Leg Stella Jeans From Express
Shoes: Steve Madden Luxe Liv Shoes (From last year, similar style here)
Bag: B Makowsky (From a few years ago, similar style here)
Bracelets: Alex & Ani gemstones in my kids birthstones and a few others.
Necklace: Forever 21 (Similar style here)
Sunglasses: Kate Spade (Similar style here)

I made this color a while ago when I was still trying to figure out what I wanted for my Fall colors. In the end I ended up finding some pretty similar colors to this one, and another line was putting out a very similar color for Fall, so I decided not to go with this one. I put on one coat right before leaving the house and topped it with Wicked Fast top coat, but I probably could have used a second coat. I still love this color and keep wearing it, so it may make it's way into the line one day anyway. Let's see.

It was a nice long weekend for us here, and it rained like crazy all weekend. Monday the sun came out and the water was super flat. It looked so pretty.

Check Us Out - We're Getting Press!

We're in the press! I am so totally beyond excited! First, last week I found out that the interview I did for Military Spouse magazine was included in an article for their November edition and then yesterday I found out that Cult Nails was featured on Teen Vogue's website as two of the 25 must have nail colors for Fall! WAHOO! And to make it all even better, I was contacted by another magazine asking if I would submit one or two colors for an article they are writing.

I am so thankful for the amazing support I have received from everyone and now to see this. I am beyond excited! In case you didn't see all my shouting it out on my Facebok and Twitter, here they are below.

Here is Teen Vogue's 25 Must Have Polishes for Fall

If you don't already have Hypnotize Me or Vicious, I suggest you get on that so you have the Must Have colors! EEEK!!! I have to reorder more Vicious already too! Guess I'll be doing that as soon as I go on lunch today!

Then to be included in an article on Getting Inspired! Seriously? OMG - I Die! For reals yo - this is so super exciting! Here is the screen shot of the Military Spouse article:

Here is a close up that is a little easier to read:

Exciting isn't it? I hope you all share in the excitement with me since you have all been on this journey with me! Thank you all again! YAY!!!

And the Winner is...

I know I said I would post the winner yesterday, but I ended up staying late at work and when I got home I grabbed the family and took off to Orlando to go shorts and jeans shopping for my daughter. She is extremely picky about her clothes. The jeans have to be perfectly soft and comfy, the stitching has to be subtle, the fit at the waist has to be perfect (She was blessed with her mom's Puerto Rican bum, so finding a good fit is not easy), they can't be too long, the length has to be perfect and there can't be any designs on the jeans and they can't be flared or skinny. Yeah, I know. She is my opposite when it comes to shopping, I LOVE it - she despises it. She is a natural beauty (lucky girl) and likes the comfy beachy look. Unfortunately the school has changed the dress code and shorts have to come below your fingertips. Which for her means Bermuda shorts and shock - she hates those. The school actually made her put her gym shorts on and turn in her shorts that reached her fingertips (But did not pass and they have to PASS them) in to the guidance department where me or Juan have to go pick up! Ugh! Don't get me started, on this. Actually let me side track a second on this. The school got a LONG email from me and I am setting up a meeting with the principal - and you all know how long winded I can get! Instead of using a totally logical basis for appropriate short length like inseam length, they use fingertip length. Let's just disregard that torso, leg and arm length is different on everyone. OK, OK, I won't go there. But as you can tell I AM NOT HAPPY! ANYWAY so it is a super chore to get pants for her, she likes what she likes, so it takes going to a huge mall and torturing the poor child who despises nothing more than clothes shopping, yet doesn't like mom's style because I buy stuff that is "too fancy", so I can't just go without her, so off we went after work yesterday since we had a yardsale planned for today and beach with friends planned for tomorrow, which meant you guys got put off a day. (Did I mention it is pouring out all weekend and no yard sale today and probably no beach tomorrow either - oh well! What can you do?)

SO there you have my nice long winded excuse for blowing you guys off yesterday. Now for the winner.

First up before I announce the big winner, I need the person who wrote this to contact me:

In my Awakening of your Iconic polishes, I find them all Enigmatic. And as they Hypnotize Me in a sea of Living Water, I find myself In A Trance. It’s a Vicious cycle, but I’m Always Winning, as my Devious Nature takes over to Let Me Fly, and I find myself Cruisin’ Nude while drinking in the gorgeous color of My Kind of Cool Aid.
I love them all as a true, blue Cultie. Never overdosing as there is never enough; even leading (hopefully soon) to a bout of Unicorn Puke, which is truly Captivating!!(As both of these we know would be a Quench thirster!!)

Amazing right? I am sending her a special prize for her creativity!

Now on to the big winner!!!! After qualifying all the entries we ended up with 376 entries! WOW! Random.org selected entry number 296 which is Katherine!

Can I just vent for a minute? I try to keep my blog as positive as possible, but let's be honest, everything's not butterfly's and rainbows all the time. I hate reading blogs where people are complaining, so I warn you, if you are like me - turn away now!

First I lost my good luck charm! I know, I know, it's crazy right? But I am bummed! Seriously, I could take losing my MacBook, but my good luck charm? NOOOOO!!!! I bought these Alex & Ani bracelets About a year ago and have worn the one with the good luck charm on it almost every day. When I need a little luck, I would rub the charm between my fingers. I know hard work and dedication are what works, but a little luck doesn't hurt right? Well the charm fell off my bracelet! Gone! I guess, on the plus side, someone walking around may come across the charm and who knows they may just need a little good luck themselves, so it will live a second life somewhere. But WAH! (Yes I am whining!) No fair! Truly bummed!

OK, so that isn't really the vent, the vent is my frustration with a headache that has decided to take residency in my head for the last month now. It seems to go away for a day here or there and then just comes right back. After 4 weeks of this I went to the doctors, who asked what is going on in my life. When I told her I work FT, started my own business which is also FT, have three kids, 2 dogs, a husband etc... She honed in on the business. "SO what do you do?" she asked. I responded "Well I do HR FT during the day, and I started my own nail polish line which pretty much takes the rest of my time." And then she hit me with the question I always get from people when they find out. "REALLY!! WOW that's so interesting!! So what makes you different from OPI?" Which I take as OPI is perfect, what the heck are you thinking? LOL. I need to fine tune an answer to this one. I love OPI, but hey, they aren't a Cult are they? LOL! ANYWAY once she heard my situation, nothing else mattered. She simply told me "Oh honey - it's stress! Nothing is going to get rid of that headache until you relax!" WHAT?!? Seriously? Ugh I know I'm stressed, but come on! I was actually OK with it. SO there is no magic to get rid of the headache, but when later that week I found out from a friend that in order to diagnose it as stress and rule everything else out, I should have gotten an MRI, my Cortisol levels checked and some blood work done. Yes stress can actually be diagnosed with tests! So as I sit here typing with another major headache that makes me want to cry, I wonder - can I have my good luck back please and should I go back for a second opinion or am I being a hypocondriac?

Contest Time!

Many blogs do give aways at the 1,000 follower mark. I have been working on a contest idea, and just haven't had time to implement it. So I decided that I would do the same for my blog as I do for my Facebook and Twitter. Since we reached the 1,000 follower mark I am going to give one lucky follower 1 bottle of each of our in stock colors! BUT I'm not going to make it that easy for you! Oh no siree!

Here's the deal, leave a comment below and let me know if you are already a Cult Member and if so, what is your favorite color? If you're not an official Cultie just yet, but you want to be, let us know which color you would want. It's that simple! You can blog, tweet or FB for more entries, just be sure to link Cult Nails to your tweet or FB so we see it and come back and leave a comment with the date and name you tweeted or FB'd about us or leave a link to your blog post. You must be a follower to win, but this is open to everyone, including international followers! This is going to be a fairly short contest. The last day to enter will be Thursday Oct 6th and I will pick a winner some time on Friday.

Look at all the polishes one lucky follower is going to recieve:

And in case you haven't heard, we reached 2,000 likes on our FaceBook page, so we are offering free shipping through Thursday Oct 6th 11:59PM EST. There is no minimum purchase required to get free shipping, all orders qualify and this includes our international friends! WAHOO! So if you haven't joined the Cult - what are you waiting for, head over to www.cultnails.com now!
